| Job Title: | Pest Control Worker |
| Job Duties: | Responsible for identifying, selecting, mixing, and applying chemical or manual solutions to get rid of pests. Identifies pest problem and appropriate solution, applies chemical or trap, and removes dead rodents. Sprays chemical solutions, powders, and gases on or near surfaces of a building or house to eliminate pests. Identifies invading pests, including rats, termites, snakes, wasps, ants, spiders, mosquitoes, or bed bugs. Sets mechanical traps and place bait. Removes dead rodents after extermination. Ensures house or building is empty when product is applied. Airs out residence after application. Identifies damage to property. Inspects property to ascertain wall and roof porosity and possible sites of pest invasion. Accesses infested locations. Cuts or bores into buildings to access infested areas. Pores pesticides over location. Cleans and removes pesticides after application. Studies preliminary reports and diagrams of infested area and determine treatment type required to eliminate and prevent recurrence of infestation. Measures area dimensions requiring treatment. Cleans and removes blockages to facilitate application. Position and fasten edges of tarpaulins over building and tape vents to ensure air-tight environment and check for leaks. Manages workers involved in application. Checks for possible leaks or exposure. Utilizes appropriate protective gear and equipment during application. Power-sprays chemicals onto surfaces. |
