| Job Duties: | Provide overall technical support in electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer hardware and software systems as needed by the company. Specific tasks: • Oversee the daily performance of computer systems. Manage backup, security and user help systems. • Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements. Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems. • Meet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and staff for various projects to develop and/or improve systems as may be required by SMA’s operation. • Provide users with technical support for computer problems. Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software. • Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications. • Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities. • Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support. • Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service. • Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software. • Develop computer information resources, providing for data security and control, strategic computing, and disaster recovery. • Evaluate data processing proposals to assess project feasibility and requirements. • Stay abreast of advances in technology. • Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor |

| Qualification Requirements: | Associates degree in Computer Information Technology or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree highly preferred. • With at least 2 years work experience as IT Specialist, Computer Support Specialist, Computer Technician or equivalent. • Must be flexible with respect to work schedule and willing to assist and support others within the company when needed. It may include working weekends and holidays. • Flexibility to travel to other islands to provide technical assistance should the need arise. • Desirable traits: Highly motivated, good attendance record, dependable. |
