| Job Duties: | 1) Assists workers engaged in preparing foods for hotels, restaurants, or ready-to-serve packages by performing any combination of following duties: Washes, peels, cuts, and seeds vegetables and fruits. 2) Cleans, cuts, and grinds meats, poultry, and seafood. 3) Dips food items in crumbs, flour, and batter to bread them. 4) Stirs and strains soups and sauces. 5) Weighs and measures designated ingredients. 6) Carries pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator. 7) Stores foods in designated areas, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and food spoilage. 8) Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils, segregates and removes garbage, and steam-cleans or hoses garbage containers. 9) Distributes supplies, utensils, and portable equipment, using handtruck. 10) May be designated according to worker assisted as Cook Helper, Broiler or Fry; Cook Helper, Dessert; Cook Helper, Vegetable; Pantry Goods Maker Helper. 11) Performs other duties as described under HELPER Master Title. |

| Qualification Requirements: | Must have over 3 to 6 months experience as cook helper. Listening: Prep cooks need to be able to hear and understand specific instructions from their chefs. Manual Dexterity: Prep cooks will be using their hands to cut and chop food, as well as other tasks. Stamina: Everyone in the kitchen works long hours on their feet over hot stoves and grills. Stamina is needed. Teamwork: Prep cooks are part of a team, and in a stressful, fast-paced environment, being a team player and level-headed will help immensely. |
