| Job Duties: | -Start motors and monitor performance for signs of malfunctioning, such as smoke, excessive vibration, or misfiring. -Observe equipment in operation to detect potential problems. -Document inspection and test results and work performed or to be performed. -Documents results. -Mount motors to boat and operate boats at various speeds on waterways to conduct operational tests. -Position equipment using hand tools, power tools, or heavy equipment. -Conduct operational tests. -Perform routine engine maintenance on motorboats, such as changing oil and filters. -Service vehicles to maintain functionality. Inspect and repair or adjust propeller shafts. Inspect mechanical components of vesicles to identify problems. -Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions. -Read and interpret diagnostic test result from diagnostic equipment such as an oscilloscope, which is used to measure the voltage produced by electronic components. -Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment by using hydraulic jacks or hoists. -Inspect brake systems, steering mechanism, transmissions, engines, and other parts of vehicles. -Do routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts. -Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system components. -Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electric equipment. -Test-drive vehicles to ensure that they run smoothly. |
