| Job Duties: | Job Duties and Tasks for: Operations Manager Responsible for maintaining the bar, and within it: Responsible for the selection and development of the restaurant’s beverage program including cocktail list, purchasing, total cost of goods, program promotion, staff education, staff management and overall guest satisfaction. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Other duties will be assigned as needed) Must be willing and able to do the following: • Identify, address and document individual employee performance problems according to standard operation procedure. Discipline and/or terminate as necessary according to the company procedures. • Assist with the scheduling, conducting and documentation of employee performance reviews according to standard operating procedures with the GM • Promote teamwork among co-workers and employees. • Be hands on with all Front of House positions to ensure smooth and efficient service. • Develop cocktail and spirit menus for the restaurant. • Coordinate all ordering of liquor, beer, and garnish for the restaurant. • Maintain professional relationships with purveyors, and must not accept gifts or cash in return for beer or liquor orders. • Account for and maintain the security of all liquor inventories to the GM • Organize the beer and liquor storage areas and read and identify wines by using labels. • Accurately account for and balance all sales and receipts to the GM • Be knowledgeable of all menu items, and be able to develop liquor pairings. • Attend wine seminars on a regular basis. • Provide liquor and cocktail education and training to new and existing employees. • Update training materials. • Uphold applicable policies and requirements of employment laws. • Have thorough understanding of and practice Employee Handbook, employee benefits, and company philosophies.` • Conduct tastings with general manager and partners • Do not overserve guests, take corrective action with any intoxicated guests by alerting security and fellow managers • Assist servers and cocktail servers with selling, opening and serving. • Communicate repair and maintenance needs to General Manager and/or appropriate repair source. • Become proficient in the use of equipment and utensils related to the operation of the restaurant. • Become proficient in the use of all restaurant computer equipment, including the Point of Sale system, Avero, Kronos, Open Table, Frequent Diner and Gift Certificate terminals, and credit card terminals. • Check back with tables which have ordered in the bar. • Accurately account for and inventory all liquor sales for the shift. • Become proficient in the restaurant’s POS system within five days. • Be able to provide accountability for any comped or voided items to the GM • Hire, train, develop and oversee all bartenders and other staff. • Interact with, direct and supervise employees on a daily basis in a fair and dignified manner. • Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures. • Maintain a clean and orderly work area. • Maintain sanitation systems & preform weekly safety maintenance checks. • Understand and maintain sidework as assigned. • Be able to stand and walk for an entire shift. • Be able to give and take direction, and work effectively within a team. • Communicate cordially, effectively and clearly with all employees, managers and guests. • Communicate in English in order to comprehend and perform/follow job requirements in written and spoken direction. • Perform more than one task at a time. • Maintain a positive, pleasant attitude every shift. • Accept direction and constructive criticism from upper management. • Perform calmly and effectively in an extremely busy and stressful work environment. • Be able to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends and increased work schedules. • Work in a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels. • Lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. |
