| Job Duties: | The position requires a vast knowledge of the Internet technology field. This position will be required to perform Electrical, Solar Energy and IT duties including: Collect data on renewable energy systems for testing or research analysis; Performing routine system maintenance and diagnosing problems with photovoltaic systems; Activating PV systems to verify system functionality and conformity to performance expectations; Checking electrical installations for proper wiring, grounding, or integrity of terminations; Determining appropriate sizes, ratings, and locations for system components; Install monitoring system components according to system design and Manufacturer specifications.; Installation of Electrical and data conduits; Final Interconnection of all distribution feeders; Installation of Solar Energy Modules; Installation of very high specialized solar energy inverters; Final connections and commissioning of inverters which requires a very in-depth knowledge of setting parameters, voltage windows, irradiance windows and settings for optimal energy capture for unique solar energy installation sites in Saipan and the CNMI; |
| High School Diploma Required? | Undetermined |
| Qualification Requirements: | Have the knowledge and experience to work with very limited supervision, having the experience and knowledge to take next step measures to accomplish the job at hand and finish projects unsupervised. In depth IT experience into equipment and software used for solar energy shading reports, drones set up and control, PV System reports for solar energy design and solar energy irradiance reporting for solar energy commissioning of projects and O&M procedures. Programs include basic operation principles as well as maintenance and troubleshooting procedures. Since work on wind energy turbines and on solar components is often done at significant heights, safety training is also stressed. Other topics may include electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, programmable logic controllers, motor controls, and many other areas found in renewable energy. Working as a team utilizing field staff in the CNMI and vendor experts in the United States to troubleshoot and repair all aspects of the IT infrastructure required for these installations Be part of a service team to troubleshoot and repair systems that have been built and are no longer producing energy. They must be able to calculate potential power output based on the orientation of a structure toward the sun, design the layouts of photovoltaic panels to collect the most solar energy and attach panels to photovoltaic supports Renewable energy technicians must have the strength to lift heavy equipment and the manual dexterity to manipulate tools. They cannot be afraid of heights because they often work at the top of tall structures, such as on pitched roofs when installing solar panels or at the top of wind towers. They also need attention to detail to follow diagrams and instructions precisely. Math skills are helpful for performing energy calculations, and electrical knowledge can help avoid dangerous shocks from incorrect connections. Technicians work indoors and out, sometimes in inclement weather, to adjust the orientation of panels toward the sun, erect wind turbines or measure the output of hydro-electric generators. They must thus be able to set up mechanical equipment, connect wires and other conduits, and work with alternative and direct current and other modes of power. Solar Energy Electrical/IT experience is a must. |
