| Job Title: | Child Care Teacher Coach |
| Job Duties: | Provide ongoing outreach, training, consultation, coaching services, and other targeted/ customized professional development supports to child care teachers and stakeholders. Observe and assess the child care program and the learning environment with the goal of understanding their vision, goals, and approach to care and education. Use a variety of professional development strategies to increase program’s capacity to implement best classroom practices, prepare for ratings and observations, and continuous quality improvement. Work with teachers to define specific, focused and clear goals and quality improvement plans. Orient and train teachers according to established quality standards. Recognize high- and low-quality interactions, instructional support, and environments. Collect, interpret, and use data for quality improvement purposes. Understand and interpret all components of the Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) ratings and improvement supports. Understand responsibilities as a mandated reporter (including preparing and presenting information to teachers, the community, and stakeholders). Develop and maintain schedules for on-site visits based on program need. Maintain teacher, family, and child confidentiality. Report directly to Program Manager. Participate in a community of practice with other coaches and organization administration. Work flexible hours that include occasional evenings and weekends. Perform all related duties. |

| Qualification Requirements: | Minimum of a Bachelor of Arts/ Science in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or related field. At least 3 years working in educational setting, with learners of all ages. Available to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends. Ability to attend virtual meetings with the Program Manager, communicate through phone and email, and/ or attend live meetings with QRIS stakeholders. Knowledge of child development and best learning practices. Demonstrated ability to plan for and deliver standards-based instruction. Demonstrated ability to translate training into practice. Ability to work one-on-one and in group settings with children and with adults. Ability to individualize instruction for teachers. Ability to review, analyze, interpret assessment data, and use the data to improve instruction. Demonstrated knowledge and competence in activity planning/coordinating. Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information appropriately. Strong oral and written communication skills in English. Proven ability to communicate with adults in a positive and proactive manner. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with people of varied social, cultural, and educational backgrounds. Knowledge of adult learning principles. Intermediate level skills in Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. Access to reliable transportation. |
