| Job Duties: | • Negotiate or supervise negotiation of complex requests for equipment, supplies, and services with suppliers and subcontractors. • Analyze configurations of the basic structural components of a building or other structure; • Calculate the pressures, stresses and strains that each component, such as a beam or lintel, will experience from other parts of the structure due to human use or environmental pressures such as weather or earthquakes; • Consider the strength of various materials, e.g. timber, concrete, steel and brick, to see how their inclusion may necessitate a change of structural design; • Liaise with other designers, including architects, to agree on safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic concept of the construction; • Proactively managing selected projects, taking responsibility for resource allocation, managing subcontractors, managing the production of analysis and design (including drawings and reports), ensuring the integrity of the overall design (in collaboration with other design disciplines), quality assurance and client feedback • With excellent experience engineering calculations, engineering plans, design and layout, project specifications, preparation of project proposals and portion of project cost estimates • Develop and execute strategies for purchasing functions to aggressively reduce cost of key supplies and services, reduce material lead times and inventory requirements and associated working capital needs. • Identifying opportunities and driving implementation of re-engineering strategies to maximize the profitability of design components • Providing leadership, direction and technical advice to project team members, taking a proactive role in developing team members to their full potential, leading by example to achieve sector/divisional goals and championing a quality, innovative and entrepreneurial culture • Providing reassurance, confidence and a sense of direction to both client and project team members • Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule, within budget; investigate potentially serious situations, and implement corrective measures. Authorize/approve all project personnel transactions (hiring, transfers, wages, etc.), purchase requisitions, change requests, etc. • Identify needs, potential suppliers, soliciting bids, reviewing bids, selecting suppliers, negotiating, and awarding contracts. • Create integrated processes among Operations, Procurement, Logistics, and outside suppliers to execute the planning/replenishment process. • Prepare, review and renew trade agreements, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for price and acceptability of items. • Oversee all activities related to procurement of commodities, from intent to purchase through delivery. • Perform all other related duties as assigned. |

| Qualification Requirements: | • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering or related disciplines • 15+ years of relevant experience with knowledge in civil or structural engineering, preferably with overseas construction experience • Additional certificates in AutoCAD and Building Studies are desirable • Good motivation, influencing, people management and delegation • Ability to think in an innovative and entrepreneurial manner with good • Demonstrated experience in sourcing techniques to provide cost savings while maintaining quality. • Excellent business, financial and negotiating skills. • Possess strong leadership and communication skills. • Highly developed analytical thinking, understanding and application of logical and analytical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. |
