Job Title: | Shipping & Receiving Clerk |
Job Duties: | Handles documentation and coordination for shipments of assigned accounts in accordance with documented procedures and in compliance with shipper/ consignee/ station/ agent requirements. Receives notices of shipments. Works directly with certain employees of assigned accounts to facilitate shipments and ensure that all requirements of shipper/ consignee are complied with. Works at customer’s office, as required, to ensure most effective communication and handling of requirements. Prepares daily booking status reports and corresponding updates, as necessary and in accordance with shipper/ consignee/ station/ agent requirements. Monitors document and cargo availability and communicates accordingly with Airfreight Manager for purposes of airline booking confirmation. Monitors movement of shipments from cargo acceptance to the sending of pre-alerts, and other reports required by shipper/ consignee/ station/ agent. Attends to customer inquiries. Performs invoicing. Sends out pre-alerts to station/ agent at destination. Ensures availability of status information for every stage of shipment where required. Settles discrepancies in documentation, if any. Works with Airfreight Cargo Operations Supervisor for any cargo volume discrepancies. Confirms details of cargo arrival with airline/ forwarder. Notifies consignee of incoming shipments accordingly. Reports to Inbound Supervisor, as necessary, any discrepancies in documentation to ensure that these are settled on a timely manner. Prepares necessary and applicable documentation from clearing up to final cargo releasing. Works with Airfreight Cargo Operations Supervisor for any cargo volume discrepancies. Ensures that Delivery Receipts are handed to Airfreight Cargo Operations Supervisor for prompt cargo release. Prepares invoices for submission to Finance Department. Sends Proof of Delivery (POD) to origin station/agent. Attends to customer inquiries, complaints and claims in support to the Supervisor. Performs other tasks as maybe required from time to time. |

Qualification Requirements: | Associate’s Degree and at least a few months to one year work related experience. Must be proficient in MS Office programs as well as other planning and logistics software. Knowledge of supply chain, shipping operations and procedures, document preparation and recordkeeping is required. Should possess good interpersonal and verbal communication skills. |
